Requirements for Instructional Material

The following are requirements to ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities.

The product/service/components shall:

Section 508 Information, Documentation, Support Standards

1. 508—1194.4Requirements for documentation, instructional materials and support.
2. 508—1194.41 (a)Product support documentation provided to end-users shall be made available in alternate formats [multiple formats] upon request, at no additional charge.
3. 508—1194.41 (b) — End-users shall have access to a description of the accessibility and compatibility features of products in alternate formats [multiple formats] or alternate methods upon request, at no additional charge.
4. 508—1194.41 (c) — Support services for products shall accommodate the communication needs of end-users with disabilities.

Section 508 Technical Standards

1. 508—1194.24Video and multimedia products or components:
2. 508—1194.24 (c ) — All training and informational video and multimedia productions which support the agency's mission, regardless of format, that contain audio information necessary for the comprehension of the content, shall be open or closed captioned.
3. 508—1194.24 (d) — All training and informational video and multimedia productions which support the agency's mission, regardless of format, that contain visual information necessary for the comprehension of the content, shall be audio described.
